Sertifi User Roles and User Permissions Overview
Some of our most frequent customer support questions are about user permissions – and it's not surprising! Getting staff up and running with the right tools and access is critical to your business' success, especially when you're handling sensitive data like payment information.
In this post, we're sharing an overview of the different role types, actions those roles can take, and how to set up and edit user permissions in your Sertifi portal.
What are the different Sertifi user roles / admin types?
Super Admins
Sertifi Super Admins are the highest level of user in a Sertifi portal. In short, a Super Admin can:
- Configure the signing experience for clients.
- Create admins.
- See all files within the portal.
- Create and send signature, payment, and authorization requests.
Power Admins
Sertifi Power Admins are the second highest level of users in a Sertifi portal. In short, a Power Admin can:
- Manage users.
- Review and manage their own documents and documents of other users in the portal.
- Create and send signature, payment, and authorization requests.
Admins
Sertifi Admin are one level above the basic Sertifi User (your clients) in a Sertifi portal. In short, an Admin can:
- Create and send signature, payment, and authorization requests.
What actions can each admin user take?
How do I create a new user?
First off, only Super Admins can create new users. You must know the users' business email address and which parts of your Sertifi portal you'd like them to have access to.
- Agreements: Allows the admin to create and send e-signature and payment requests.
- Authorizations: Allows the admin to create and send authorization requests.
- All: Allows the admin to create and send e-signature, payment, and authorization requests.

How do I deactivate a user?
In the event that a user no longer requires access to your Sertifi portal, a Super Admin can deactivate that user account to remove their access from the portal. See the steps on our support center here.
