Q: What is a typical day like for you at Sertifi?
A: A typical day usually starts by coming in and reviewing what we have in our applicant tracking system. So reviewing all the new resumes that have come in for an open role, saying “no” to the clear no’s, and pushing potential candidates along through the pipeline.
Sometimes I work on sourcing projects. That could mean looking through LinkedIn and sourcing passive candidates to help fill out the pipeline.
I have been doing a lot of phone screens, on average about 16 per week. I also meet with hiring managers to help develop job descriptions and job posts. We get those posted and start recruiting.
I will follow candidates all the way through the process until it is time to make an offer. Which is one of my favorite parts of the job.
Q: What is your proudest moment at Sertifi (so far)?
A: I have felt so welcomed with my time at Sertifi so far. A real highlight was the shout-out from Aaron on our Sales Team a couple weeks ago. It’s so nice to be recognized so early by a peer. It really pushes me to work harder to bring others onto this welcoming and friendly team.
Q: What advice do you have for prospective new hire candidates?
A: Do your research. While we can always do more to expand our employment brand, there is a lot of information available to candidates. I can always tell when they have done some research and have an idea of what we do at Sertifi. It really stands out when a candidate has a clear understanding of why they are interested in the role and why Sertifi specifically.
Q: What are 3 words or phrases to describe Sertifi?
A: Process Oriented People Team: It’s great to be part of a team that has documentation in place and some standard operating procedures – but that isn’t rigid or set in its ways. I think Olivia, our Director of HR & People Operations, does a great job of asking for ways to improve or identifying cracks so that we continuously improve.
Welcoming: That has been my experience so far.
Forward Thinking: One of the things that has been so fun to talk to candidates about is our upcoming product releases. We are looking to the future. We are not just maintaining legacy code, but we are creating and innovating new things.
